The turkish city of Istanbul has registered a bid challenging Doha, Qatar for the rights to host the IAAF World Indoor Championships in 2010.
The IAAF council will announce their decision after their next meeting on November 24 in Monte Carlo, in time for the next edition of the event, to be held in March 2008 in Valencia, Spain.
Turkey boasts excellent facilities for hosting this Indoor event, with the 17,500 capacity Sinan Erdem Dome situated just 3km from Airport and a brand new athlete hotel only 1 km from Airport. |
